Summary statement on the 2nd UNITAR-Yale Conference on Environmental Governance & Democracy
The 2010 Conference was part of the UNITAR-Yale Environment & Democracy Initiative launched in 2007 to address the growing demand for research, teaching and capacity building in the field of democratic environmental governance.
Institutional and governance aspects of climate change financing and technology transfer emerged as an important theme of the Conference. The topic was addressed through 17 papers and covered through the introductory panel presentation by Brenda Killen, Head of the OECD DAC Aid Effectiveness Division.
The 2010 UNITAR-Yale Conference brought together some 160 academics, governance practitioners and civil society representatives from more than 20 developed and developing countries. List of participants.
